BRIEF: Two Men Wanted For Stealing ATM From Restaurant

Dec 08, 2010 (KTLA-TV - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- ORANGE, Calif. -- Police are looking for two men who stole an automated teller machine from a restaurant in Old Towne.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Haven Gastropub on South Glassell Street.

According to police, the men walked in through the back door wearing white jumpsuits with hoods, black boots and black gloves.

The men, whose faces were covered, used a dolly to simply wheel the machine out of the building, Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams said.

A third man is believed to have stayed in the alley as a lookout, Adams said.

Initially, employees thought the machine was being serviced.

When when the manager found out, he ran outside to look for the men, but they were gone.

A witness told police he saw two men rolling a large object on a dolly through the parking lot, but was unable to see the vehicle that screeched out of the parking lot, Adams said.

Police later found the ATM in an industrial area near the 91 freeway.

All the cash was gone.

Adams said it was unknown how much money was in the ATM.

Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Ted Taketa at 714-744-7561.
