MobiTechFest Europe 2010 Seeks EntriesOct 15, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Applications for MobiTechFest Europe 2010, where 16 start-up companies in the mobile sector present their business concept to high-profile potential investors across Europe and win a prize worth over GBP15,000, are now open. According to a release, companies can apply to present at MobiTechFest Europe 2010 online at wmobitechfest.eu. Submissions close on Friday Oct. 27, 2010. The event, taking place at, 10 Queen Street Place, London on Nov. 24, 2010, offers mobile industry innovators the opportunity to pitch for funding to industry leaders in the mobile and wireless industries. Up to 16 companies will be selected to showcase their business concepts to an audience of corporate and venture investors, industry analysts and executives from mobile and wireless organizations. A prize worth more than GBP15,000 will also be awarded to the Best In Show selected by the investor judges. The prize includes a VIP event, exhibit and marketing package for the International CTIA Wireless 2011 show, taking place in Las Vegas in March 2011. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges, comprising corporate and venture investors. "MobiTechFest celebrates the very best innovations in mobile technology and often provides that 'once-in-a-lifetime' break that everybody is looking for," said Gopan Madathil, President of Investorfest Media. "Moreover, this event provides an unrivalled opportunity to network with top investors from all across Europe, which is why we encourage entrepreneurs to attend, even if they're not presenting." MoBank presented at last year's MobiTechFest and as a result, obtained the funding to launch its mobile commerce platform. Ben Carswell, co-founder at MoBank, said: "We had everything apart from the funding to get our idea flying off the shelves. MobiTechFest gave us the platform to secure backing and sales immediately followed. Since May 2009, we've signed up Next, Waterstone's and the Ministry of Justice. "We released the Waterstone's application for the iPhone and iPad last month, making Waterstone's the first high street bookseller to join this exciting part of the market. Available from Waterstones.com/apps and the iTunes App store and linked to customers' Waterstones.com accounts, the app allows users to browse and place orders via Waterstones.com, as well as to find stores and read reviews, and pre-order titles." Comufy is another company that participated in last year's MobiTechFest. It offers professional social media and instant messaging marketing tools to help businesses directly target relevant customers. It takes the idea of email marketing to the next level.
