'T-Mobile Czech Republic blocks child pornography sites'

May 11, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- T-Mobile Czech Republic has started blocking child pornography websites according to the database managed by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). At the same time it started to cooperate with the Czech National centre for safer Internet. T-Mobile already introduced the service Child lock in 2009, allowing parents to prohibit inappropriate content on their children's mobile phones, and the mobile operator has also worked to highlight the problem of cyberbullying. Site blocking works on the basis of URL (not domain) filtering. The filter will be applied according to the database of URLs with illegal content, the supplier of which is UK-based IWF. In the event a site is blocked in error, there will be a direct connection to IWF, which will evaluate a complaint and eventually remove the site from the list. T-Mobile said it also started collecting information from customers on suspect websites and passing the information to the police.
