New Website Promotes Road Safety In Kent And Medway

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The war being waged on reducing death and serious injuries on Kentand Medway's roads has received a major boost with the launch of a new website aimed at changing people's attitudes towards road safety.

The new website (www.kmscp.org) has been created for the Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership (K&MSCP) by Sagittarius Marketing's new media team, Sagittarius Digital. In recent months, the Folkestone-based agency has been at the heart of four separate integrated campaigns to drive home life-saving road safety messages to motorists across the region.

The Partnership was keen to beef up its existing online presence, to support its ongoing campaigns to educate and encourage motorists to slow down and help cut the number of speed-related crashes and casualties.

"The Partnership was looking for something special and very different to the norm, deliberately avoiding the typical 'local authority' look," said Sagittarius Marketing Director Paul Stephen.

"The brief was clear - the new site needed to support their goals by providing an extensive online resource, it had to dispel any myths about safety cameras and it had to educate people as to why the Partnership was established and what it actually does.

"We have delivered a website that meets all these requirements and more, a site which is clear, concise and attention-grabbing. It's easy to find what you're looking for and is bursting with new content which we believe will help make it an invaluable tool in boosting road safety on the roads of Kent and Medway," he added.

The website includes new educational areas on speed limits for different types of vehicles and also an interactive safety camera map showing every fixed camera location in the county.

Rachel Wall, Communications Manager at K&MSCP, said: "I'm extremely impressed with our new website. Comments from those who have so far used it have said how modern and different the site looks while still being very easy to use.

"It was important for the Partnership that the website provided an extensive online tool to cover all aspects of safety cameras so as to continue our open and honest approach to reducing road death and injuries on our county's roads. The digital marketing team at Sagittarius were a pleasure to work with and strived hard to reach our objectives which have definitely been achieved." Sagittarius Marketing has been chosen to deliver a number of high-profile road safety campaigns in recent months. Launching soon is the Safety Cameras Save Lives campaign, which debunks the myths many people have about safety cameras.

The hard-hitting BELT up. SLOW down. campaign influenced young driver behaviour on the dangers of speeding and not wearing a seat belt. The Street Lights Mean 30 campaign reminded drivers and motorbike riders that street lights mean you are travelling in a 30mph speed limit zone, unless otherwise stated.

Paul Stephen added: "Road safety is a subject which matters to every one of us and we are proud to be playing our part in making the roads of Kent and Medway safer."
