WCGS Selects Pactolus SIPware Prepaid Solutions

Feb 05, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Pactolus Communications, makers of SIP applications and service creation/delivery solutions, announced that WCGS - World Communication Group Services, a provider of Telecommunications switching solutions, has selected Pactolus SIPware Prepaid Services as the SIP-based prepaid platform for their IP network.

According to the company, WCGS will partition and offer these resources to Prepaid Service Providers that do not have or do not want to acquire the in-house technical expertise needed to build out their own network facilities and want to focus their energies on prepaid card distribution and marketing. WCGS offers them a complete, carrier neutral, turnkey solution with service providers being able to monitor the business aspects of the service using WCGS's Bat 1000 reporting and management system while WCGS handles all network and prepaid platform management. The WCGS addition of pure IP-based technologies was driven by the need to reduce costs, take advantage of SIP network peering, gain much more control over incorporating new application features, and at the same time go beyond the scalability of legacy TDM switch architectures that inefficiently support IP network connectivity with IP add-on software and hardware components.

"We had been hosting prepaid services for prepaid service providers on legacy TDM prepaid platforms for some time now and realized that we needed to implement an IP-based prepaid platform to take advantage of the flexibility and scale that they can provide," said WCGS CEO Arnie Goodstein. "Pactolus provided to us an IP-based prepaid platform and application that allowed us to replicate our existing prepaid services as well as integrate our extensive prepaid business reporting capabilities that we had built around our TDM prepaid platform. This solution is a win-win for our service provider customers since it makes our solution easy to manage and cost effective for small to very large service providers."

Pactolus Chairman and CEO Paul Blondin summarized: "The WCGS team has had a long successful reputation in the prepaid industry and we are pleased to be their technology partner to address the needs of both existing and emerging prepaid service providers. Through WCGS, service providers now have access to the latest SIP-based prepaid platform solution without having to make a capital investment in networks and other hardware."
