CSR: CSR's industry-leading BlueCore silicon inside Aliph's new Jawbone Bluetooth headset
Cambridge, UK, Oct 27, 2008 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
CSR (LSE: CSR) today announced that Aliph's highly acclaimed new Jawbone Bluetooth headset uses CSR's BlueCore5-Multimedia Bluetooth technology. The new Jawbone utilises CSR's powerful integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to enable its patented NoiseAssassin technology, which provides end-users with unrivalled noise elimination performance in any environment.
The new Jawbone is the successor to the original award-winning Jawbone headset. In the tradition of bringing together science and beauty, the new Jawbone design is 50% smaller than the original and features breakthrough noise elimination technology to provide even better voice quality in a smaller and more ergonomic package.
CSR's BlueCore5-Multimedia has a flexible DSP architecture which allowed the designers at Aliph to easily add innovative features that help boost the performance and functionality of the Jawbone headset. Jawbone's NoiseAssassin technology literally feels the user's speech with its patented Voice Activity Sensor (VAS). The VAS allows the Jawbone headset to distinguish the user's voice from ambient noise with unprecedented accuracy. The proprietary NoiseAssassin algorithm uses the power of the CSR DSP inside BlueCore5-Multimedia to aggressively cancel out noise while accurately preserving the user's voice.
Richard Drysdale, Vice President, Product Management & Strategy, Aliph said, "After using BlueCore3-Multimedia for the highly successful original Jawbone headset, CSR was the obvious choice for the new Jawbone. The new Jawbone needed to improve on the high standard set by its predecessor and, by moving to CSR's fifth generation multimedia Bluetooth technology, we are able to offer our customers industry leading wireless audio performance."
"After the success of the original Jawbone headset we were proud that Aliph chose CSR for the second generation product," said Anthony Murray, Senior Vice President of CSR's Wireless Audio Strategic Business Unit. "The new Jawbone has improved on what was one of the best headsets on the market and, by using CSR's BlueCore technology, will continue to provide end-users with industry leading connectivity and best-in-class audio performance."
CSR's multimedia BlueCore products are the only Bluetooth ICs on the market to integrate a high performance DSP and CODEC. CSR has designed BlueCore5-Multimedia to provide exceptional audio and radio performance at low power consumption.
