[October 21, 2008] Former Cabadbaran lady mayor Amante passes away (Obit) Tweet CABADBARAN CITY, Oct 21, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- Former three-termer Cabadbaran Mayor Rosario Sayong Malvas Amante passed away past 7:00 p.m. Sunday night (October 19) while in confinement at St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City, the Amante family announced this morning. According to the huge Amante and Malvas clans here, the former mayor who served then the Municipality of Cabadbaran, capital town of Agusan del Norte before (now a city), for three terms from 1992 to 2003, died of complication due to diabetes. Sayong as she is fondly called by supporters and friends, was the first lady mayor of Cabadbaran. She is survived by her husband, former Executive Secretary, Agusan del Norte Rep. Edelmiro Atega Amante. She is 71 years old. Amante undefeated as Congressman of the second district of Agusan del Norte also served as Barangay Captain of Ampayon, Butuan City, Butuan City Councilor and former Con-Con delegate. Amantes son is incumbent Agusan del Norte Governor Erlpe John Malvas Amante while their daughter, Maria Angelica Rossdell Malvas Amante-Matba served also as three-termer of Agusan del Norte.
