eTelemetry Offers Metron, Tracks Surfing and Chatting(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) eTelemetry, a provider in extracting real-time business information from network activity, announced the release of Metron SE, which documents productivity loss by providing advanced bandwidth and network activity monitoring capabilities. The network appliance, which monitors bandwidth usage and time spent surfing or chatting by person, is specially designed and priced for small and medium sized businesses with up to 250 employees. Metron SE is built on the patented people-to-IP technology found in eTelemetry's Locate device that passively identifies the person (by full name and contact information) linking them in real time and historically to an IP address, MAC address, and switch port within a network. The Employee Behavior and Gateway Anomaly Detection Dashboards featured in Metron SE provide time-series charts and graphs that show a broad spectrum of employee network activity, including surf and chat history and the establishment of secure sessions. "Metron SE is a cost-effective solution that provides small businesses with visibility into their employees' behavior," said eTelemetry President and CEO, Ermis Sfakiyanudis. "This insight will enable business owners and managers to increase productivity, identify potential security risks, and enforce network use policies - capabilities that are needed by any size company with employees who have access to the Internet." Metron SE's Manager Portal ends management's reliance on IT staff for employee activity reporting by enabling managers to monitor the network activity of their direct reports. Managers can leverage this capability to increase productivity, enforce network use policies, and identify commonly used external resources. All of the information provided in Metron SE is tracked in real time and documented historically to create a record for support of personnel actions, the company noted in a release.
