ShareMethods has announced the selection of its on-demand service by Pacific Swimming for a deployment by its non-profit organization.

ShareMethods sells a Software-as-a-Service product designed to manage, share, and distribute sales, marketing, and support materials. Content such as sales presentations, proposals, marketing collateral, support information, and partner documents can be posted and accessed worldwide.

Pacific Swimming needed a centralized document library which could be accessed by its team members and volunteer workforce, distributed across multiple cities and states in the US. There was a requirement to link Pacific Swimming's CRM product, salesforce.com, into an advanced document management service.

ePacific Swimming deployed ShareNow for AppExchange to provide advanced document management and collaboration services on-demand to its distributed volunteer workforce. A combined solution of salesforce.com and ShareNow for AppExchange was used by Pacific Swimming enabling an enterprise mash-up of CRM and document management on-demand.

In other news, LiteScape Technologies (News - Alert) has selected ShareMethods' on-demand service for a global deployment to several hundred of its users.

ShareMethods sees its value proposition in the fact that with most documents and work processes handled informally today via e-mail, many businesses now find they need a better way.

"We needed an on-demand platform to share and distribute documents for internal teams and partners around the world," said Andy Barbour, senior director of channel sales at LiteScape Technologies.

Last fall ShareMethods announced that it upgraded its operations into a SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II data center provided by AppSite Hosting, a division of Vericenter. The ShareMethods service is hosted at Appsite’s datacenter, to "boost redundancy and scale more easily when adding customers," according to company officials.

ShareMethods officials say their product "combines advanced document management, collaboration, and CRM integration," specifically the "Sales and Marketing Portal in a Box" approach which "can cost less than one tenth of the price of traditional enterprise software."

Last year ShareMethods announced the debut of ShareNow for AppExchange, as a "unique Appforce application that allows Salesforce users to access a shared and scalable library of their sales and marketing documents, such as marketing collateral, presentations, and sales proposals."
