H-E-B extends networking services contract with Spacenet and adds new advanced network management servicesMCLEAN, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Spacenet Inc. today announced that it has signed a five-year enterprise networking services contract with H-E-B. In addition to providing satellite connectivity to all Texas based H-E-B retail stores, Spacenet is also providing its SmartCare(TM) enterprise-grade network management services. Spacenet has provided services, including private hub network services, to H-E-B since 1988. H-E-B's new VSAT network utilizes Spacenet's Connexstar SE Enterprise Partition (EP) service, which provides a partitioned central hub infrastructure and dedicated network bandwidth for a secure private network for selected retail locations. The upgraded satellite network supports POS polling, back-office applications, multicasting and pharmacy fulfillment. Spacenet is also providing its advanced SmartCare managed network services, which deliver advanced network monitoring, management and performance measurement services to enhance network reliability and security. As part of the service, Spacenet will proactively monitor and respond to problem resolution issues to provide maximum performance and reliability for critical applications.
