Oracle: Training centers producing 10,000 professionals by 2008


(BNamericas.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)US solutions developer Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) expects its Oracle University training centers in Brazil to be producing 10,000 professionals a year by year-end 2007, Oracle Brasil Oracle universities director Fernando Silva told BNamericas.



Oracle's Brazil universities have capacity to train some 7,000 students a year and this has now increased with the opening of the 17th Oracle-approved training center this week in Brazil's northern city of So Lus do Maranho. Silva would not reveal the investment made by Oracle.

The So Lus center will be run in partnership with local IT company Shap. The aim is to train students at all levels in areas of IT as well as Oracle tools such as PeopleSoft, according to Silva.


Oracle has 400 centers worldwide and some 600,000 students who participate in normal courses, as well as 235,000 online.
