PIKA Technologies Inc. Extends Commitment to Asterisk Developer Community

New Release of PIKA Connect for Asterisk Supports Asterisk 1.2 and Low Density Analog Boards

Ottawa, Canada –May 16, 2006- PIKA Technologies Inc. today announced the latest release of PIKA Connect for Asterisk, further strengthening their commitment to Asterisk developers, following their previous announcement earlier this year. PIKA Connect for Asterisk adds support for PIKA low-density analog boards as well as compatibility with Asterisk 1.2.

PIKA Connect for Asterisk is a software layer (channel driver), available free of charge and distributed under the GNU Public License (GPL), which allows interoperability between PIKA low and high-density analog boards and Asterisk PBX software.

“We are proud to be a traditional CT board vendor who is focused on delivering hardware and software building blocks for the Asterisk Open Source environment,” said Terry Atwood, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care. “Our strategy is to continuously enhance the product line so you can expect to see more updates in the coming months.”

“With PIKA Connect for Asterisk, the Asterisk development community can benefit from advanced features for fax and echo cancellation in low and high density analog applications. In addition, support for H.100 allows for low latency native switching between our high density analog boards,” stated Wojciech Tryc, Enterprise VoIP architect at PIKA Technologies. “This is made possible by PIKA’s DSP processing power on the board.” Reliability has been proven in the lab and in customer environments.

Asterisk developers can be up and running quickly with PIKA Connect for Asterisk and PIKA hardware. “For those familiar with using the Asterisk platform, no additional training is required. They can take advantage of the PIKA solution with minimal effort or investment,” said PIKA Technologies’ Wojciech Tryc. The latest version of PIKA Connect for Asterisk will be available by the end of June on the PIKA Developer Zone.
