Interoute Expands in North America; Opens DC-area Office; Adds Several Industry Veterans

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)-- March 4, 2005 -- In response to high-demand for trans-Atlantic and European connectivity, Interoute, owner and operator of Europe's largest and most-advanced voice and data network, is expanding its American region operations by adding several new executives to its ranks and opening a new DC-area office at 7272 Wisconsin Circle, Suite 300, Bethesda, MD 20814, P: 301-941-1910.

Interoute has appointed telecom industry veteran Howard Witt as sales director, focusing on government services opportunities. Joining him are Sales Director Ralph Kirkpatrick and Account Director Tim Godlee, who will service the wholesale markets.

All three executives will report directly to Jay Belodoff, Interoute vice president, Americas, who is headquartered in Atlanta.

"The American region is showing huge demand for our services, enabling us to undertake this expansion in order to better service our customers," said Belodoff. "Companies here appreciate the value of a network wholly owned down to the duct level and operated by a debt-free company. Through our global offices and partnerships, we're able to meet the trans-Atlantic and global requirements of American region customers."

An 18-year telecommunication veteran, Howard Witt joins Interoute from Teligent, Inc. where he served as executive director. Howard has also held positions with WilTel Communications, Orblynx, Teleglobe and Motorola. He holds a BA in Economics from The University of Michigan and an MBA from Emory University.

Prior to joining Interoute, Ralph Kirkpatrick served as senior vice president, carrier services at New Global Telecom, managing director at Sonera, and vice president sales and marketing at Swisscom North America, in addition to positions at Teleglobe and Global One. He received his BA in Political Science from Catholic University.

Tim Godlee was national account manager at Aleron and sales director at Dynegy before joining Interoute. Tim received a Commerce Degree from the University of Tazmania.

"We've brought together a strong team of experienced and driven industry veterans and are fully committed to providing the best service and support in the U.S, a strategic market for Interoute," concluded Belodoff.
