SPI Technologies Establishes Largest Cross-border Delivery Platform for Content Outsourcing Services

NEW YORK & MANILA --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 2, 2005 -- New facilities in Mexico, India and the Philippines Enhance Global Customer Service Capabilities; Signal New Growth Phase in Company's 25-year History

SPI Technologies Inc., the world's largest independent content outsourcing services provider, has expanded its customer service delivery platform by opening up new facilities in Mexico, India and the Philippines. The addition of these new facilities brings the total number of service locations in North America, Europe and Asia to 21. The company, now in its 25th year of operation, also plans to expand its global workforce of more than 6,000 business process outsourcing specialists by approximately 30 percent in 2005.

"With the active support of our owners, TH Lee Putnam Ventures, we continue to make key investments - in people, facilities and technology - that enhance our ability to deliver customer service on a truly global basis across the select markets that we serve," said Ernest Cu, President and CEO of SPI Technologies. "Our multi-shore delivery strategy keeps us close to our customers, while managing large-scale, complex and information-intensive projects on a cost-effective, minimal-risk basis."

Over the past 12 months, SPI Technologies aggressively strengthened its leadership position in its target markets by making strategic investments to support rapid growth in its key business units. Significant 2004 initiatives in SPI Technologies' target markets included:

Healthcare: SPI's healthcare division undertook a significant ramp-up in its global operations by building a new production facility in Cebu City (Philippines) and expanding its existing operations in Manila. Both these initiatives, which will accommodate up to 1,200 additional business process outsourcing specialists, will focus on providing state-of-the-art, HIPAA-compliant medical transcription and information management services to hospitals, multi-specialty clinics, HMOs, insurance companies and health information organizations in the U.S.

Legal: SPI's litigation support services division acquired i-Base Data Services in Oakton, Virginia, the first and leading online coding services provider in the U.S. The acquisition is part of the business unit's strategy to provide one-stop, global services in document coding and electronic data discovery to major international law firms, corporate counsel and government agencies.

Publishing: In addition to operations in Pondicherry and Kolkata, the publisher services division established a new service center in New Delhi, India, as well as two additional centers in the Philippines (Cebu and Dumaguete). The new facilities will help the business unit meet the fast-growing needs of its non-profit, university and commercial publisher customer base.

Financial Services: SPI's transaction processing services division opened a new, 43,000-sq.ft. production facility in Juarez, Mexico, to support customers with transaction-intensive business in the U.S. The new center is located only 15 minutes from El Paso, Texas.

Cu added, "We are looking forward to a very exciting year in 2005 as we aggressively build on our customer service, production and project management capabilities around the world. Through our new ownership structure, we are leveraging our financial resources and deep industry expertise to support an outsourcing platform that truly meets and serves the specialized needs of our customers."
