Advanced ID and PetNet Microchip Identification to Create National Pet Recovery Service in Canada

CALGARY, Alberta --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 17, 2004 -- Advanced ID Corporation (OTCBB: AIDO), a pioneer in the radio frequency identification (RFID) market, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, AVID Canada Corporation, acquired the PetNet(R) Recovery Database of petowners microchipped prior to January 1st, 2003 from Anitech Identification Systems Inc. As a result of this acquisition, AVID Canada will have the most robust and largest database in Canada with nearly one million registered pet owners. In addition, AVID Canada and PetNet have agreed to work towards establishing a national pet recovery service, a goal of animal and veterinary associations for several years. AVID Canada and PetNet are the only two providers of an approved Canadian standard microchip known as FECAVA.

Barry Bennett, President and CEO, commented, "We have been reuniting lost pets with their owners for over ten years. By acquiring a portion of PetNet's original database, we will be able to expedite this process even quicker thereby minimizing animal and pet owner stress. In addition to now having the largest pet recovery database in Canada, we are also the largest provider of microchips and readers to veterinarians, animal shelters and clinics. Both PetNet's and our ability to become the two largest vendors for pet identification and recovery in Canada is a direct reflection of the strength of our respective company's products and services. Quite frankly, no other pet recovery service is even remotely as large or robust as both of ours."

Mohammad Ali, President of Anitech Enterprises Inc. stated, "We could not have found a better partner in AVID Canada to manage the welfare of lost pets with their PetTRAC(TM) recovery system in combination with PetNet's National Pet Recovery Service(TM). Our combined reputations as ethical leaders in the pet identification and recovery industry will provide pet owners every comfort they need should they lose their pet."
