Micromuse's Netcool solutions are helping to support the AGILIT service, which was developed in response to the market's need to lessen the increasing complexity of distributed networks, growth of internet technologies, and the combination of servers and applications through automation. AGILIT's hosting services benefit end-user customers through reduced operating costs associated with automating server and data center environments while improving security and quality of modern IT environments.

Netcool software, which is currently in use at several groups within the NTT Communications Corporation, was selected by the AGILIT service team to provide consolidated operations management, event correlation, data analysis and data presentation for AGILIT's services. The Netcool solutions allow network operators to consolidate all network, systems and applications event data into a single view on one screen to enable the fast identification and prioritization of service-affecting problems on the infrastructure. NTT Communications Corporation implemented the Netcool(R) Dashboards(TM) solution to accurately monitor the availability and performance of host systems and the applications running over them. NTT Communications Corporation also deployed Micromuse's Netcool(R)/Precision(TM) application for accurate network topology and connectivity information. The complete Netcool solution provides a realtime, end-to-end view of the service-delivery infrastructure and a true, clear picture of the root cause of the problem to enable the efficient use of operational resources in support of service uptime and quality.

"Micromuse is clearly the vendor of choice for large, advanced telecommunications operators that require cost-efficient solutions to help them bring premier value-added services to market quickly," said Hiro Ichihara, Micromuse's Vice President and Country Manager for Japan. "Netcool's ability to scale to handle the large volume of data generated by applications, systems and network devices and to consolidate that data into a single view is invaluable in helping service providers maintain their strong brand values, minimize costs and provide a fast return on investment."
