Intel Executive, Ron Resnick, to Keynote First WiMAXcon Conference in Los Angeles

NORWALK, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 16, 2004 -- President and Chairman of WiMAX Forum to Address Service Providers, Enterprises, Government about Burgeoning Broadband Access Market

Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) today announced that Ron Resnick, director of industry programs, Intel, has accepted an invitation to deliver the opening keynote address at the inaugural WiMAXcon conference. The meeting is being held October 6-7, 2004, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles; Mr. Resnick's address takes place on October 6th at 8:15 AM.

The WiMAXcon conference is the only venue for industry professionals to learn about the increasing number of opportunities afforded by the WiMAX/802.16/HIPERMAN industry standards. With the continued proliferation of wireless broadband, this event is a "must-attend" for executives in both the private and public sectors.

"In the last few years, we have seen WiFi revolutionize the way the world communicates, and the opportunity that WiMAX presents is significantly greater in terms of range and bandwidth," said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and group-editor-in-chief. "Suddenly, service providers will be able to reach customers that were currently monopolized by one or two carriers -- the world will be awash in lower-priced broadband access and the potential for revenue generation will be tremendous.

"Intel is clearly committed to the growth and expansion of WiMAX. We feel very fortunate that Mr. Resnick has chosen this event to carry their message forward and describe the amazing benefits and opportunities made possible by this new communications technology," added Tehrani.

WiMAXcon will be co-located with TMC's very popular INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO (www.itexpo.com).

"Co-locating WiMAXcon with INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Conference & EXPO is very logical as WiMAX Telephony, courtesy of VoIP, will likely be the most profitable WiMAX application," explained Tehrani.

Registration for the show is now open. Anyone interested may register by visiting http://www.wimaxcon.com. Limited booth space is still available as well. Vendors interested in exhibiting at the show should contact Dave Rodriguez right away at 203-852-6800, ext. 146. Or send e-mail to [email protected].

Press inquiries regarding Ron Resnick's appearance can be directed to Mostafa Razzak at 23-31 Communications: 646-442-3361 or [email protected].
