THS set to begin search for Marsh's successor

THOMASVILLE, Jan 12, 2013 (Thomasville Times-Enterprise - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The search to replace Richie Marsh as Thomasville's football coach will begin Monday.

That was the messaged conveyed to the Times-Enterprise by Thomasville City Schools Superintendent Sabrina Boykins-Everett.

"Next week we will do our posting for the availability of the position. We will post on our local website, but we will also post on teachgeorgia.org the availability of the position. We are going to keep that posting open through next Friday at 4:30 p.m.," Everett said. "Then we're going to give ourselves four days following the Martin Luther King Holiday the opportunity to go through the applications, check references, make phone calls and contacts. Then we'll schedule interviews.

"Not knowing how many candidates to anticipate, I can't tell you how long that interview process will take because I have some things in my schedule that were already there that are non-negotiable to change, and so has principal (Todd) Mobley. We're working around our schedules to go ahead and fast-forward our chance to select a set of viable top candidates and then move forward with the selection process." Thomasville is searching for a head football coach for the first time since 2005 when Marsh was hired to replace Tommy Welch. In replacing Marsh, Everett will look for a coach who shares the same values and character that Marsh stood for during his eight years with the Bulldogs. Also, the next coach must have been successful in his prior endeavors.
