Tactical Communications Group Announces New Support of JREAP A Capability for TCG BOSS, GTS and LinkPRO Product Family

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TEWKSBURY, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/23/13 -- Tactical Communications Group (TCG), the leading independent provider of tactical data link (TDL) software solutions for military test, training, simulation and operational applications worldwide, today announced support for JREAP A within the whole TCG product line, following recent successful testing efforts at select U.S. Air Force test facilities. These new TCG JREAP A capabilities also enabled TCG to recently secure new Battlefield Operations Support System ("BOSS") contract awards with select major US primes for pre-deployment testing of advanced airborne platforms being developed by these primes having JREAP A and other data link communication requirements.

The Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) was designed to provide a standard way to allow Link 16 and other critical tactical data link-based information to overcome line-of-sight limitations inherent in tactical radio terminals, and enable the efficient dissemination of important tactical data link information over long-haul, beyond line-of-sight ("BLOS") networks. JREAP A, the most complex of the JREAP standards, allows for the global distribution of important military data link information over encrypted satellite links. TCG's support of both JREAP A and JREAP C, when coupled with TCG's existing support for all leading tactical data links, significantly enhances the capabilities of TCG's whole product line. Specifically: JREAP A and JREAP C capabilities on TCG's market-leading BOSS data link test and simulation solution now enable military test agencies, military end users and prime contractors to ensure all link-enabled platforms which require widespread and secure dissemination of critical data link information globally, over data link networks, IP-based networks and satellite networks, comply with all current data link and JREAP A and C standards.JREAP A support on TCG's highly-acclaimed GTS pilot training solution allows military ground station operators and air crews to become trained on all current information distribution mechanisms for line-of-sight and BLOS communications, thereby allowing these operators to "train as they fight."JREAP A and JREAP C processing capabilities on TCG's LinkPRO data link processing engine now enable LinkPRO to be an optimal data link processing engine for any prime contractor having command and control products which require local and long distance information exchange over tactical, satellite and IP-based networks. Further, with JREAP A and C support and with existing support for all major tactical data links, LinkPRO is now able to function as a universal gateway and forwarder between line-of-sight networks and long-haul networks, thereby enabling the distribution of TDL information to a wider audience of disparate networks and platforms, at an extremely affordable price point.

"We are very pleased to announce this significant new JREAP A capability within the whole TCG product family," said Michael Hiney, TCG's Senior Vice President. "Immediate access to Link 16 and other data link information is becoming increasingly critical to mission success for local and remote military users, and all key command and control nodes. The requirement to securely distribute data link information globally is also growing, with satellite networks increasingly being used for secure long-haul information dissemination. The addition of JREAP A, when coupled with our existing support for JREAP C, Link 16, Link 11, SADL, DIS and other TDL capabilities, significantly enhances TCG's product line appeal across our whole test, training and operational market segments, and we are pleased to provide these enhanced capabilities to our global customer base." This new JREAP A capability is now available as a separately priced software module from TCG, and can be easily added to existing BOSS and GTS systems.
