Quebecor signs on as major partner of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup finals - TVA Sports will be the official French-language broadcaster

MONTRÉAL, March 13, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - For the third year in a row, Quebecor is teaming up with the International Ski Federation (FIS) to present the Cross-Country World Cup finals. The culmination of the 2016-2017 season will be held March 17 to 19 on the Plains of Abraham in Québec City. TVA Sports will be the official French-language broadcaster of the event. Cross-country fans will therefore be able to follow the performances of the world's top skiers – including Québec's own Alex Harvey – live.

"Our elite athletes need to be supported, our kids need inspiring role models, and our venues have everything it takes to attract world-class events," said Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor. "Quebecor is therefore proud to be a major partner of the Cross-Country World Cup in Québec City. This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate all aspects of our collective know-how: both our Gestev subsidiary's expertise in event organization and our Canadian skiers' athletic prowess. We have been supporting Alex Harvey for almost 6 years as his main partner and it will be an honour for our entire team to be there to cheer him on when he competes on his home turf in Québec City."

Quebecor in full fan mode!

Fans will be treated to an exciting immersive entry to the site though the three tunnels leading to the course. Thousands of bells will also be distributed to spectators to help raise the decibel level and spur on the athletes.
