Penn State Alumni Association Honors Health Advocate(TM), Inc. Cofounder with Alumni Fellow Award

Plymouth Meeting, PA, Nov 28, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Health Advocate, Inc., the nation's leading independent healthcare advocacy and assistance company, has announced that David S. Rocchino, Chief Sales Officer, Executive Vice President and cofounder of the company has received the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow, the highest award given by the Penn State University Alumni Association.

Since the award was established in 1973, more than 700 alumni have been honored with the title of Alumni Fellow, designated a permanent and lifelong title by the Penn State Board of Trustees. This represents one-eighth of one percent of all 560,000 living Penn State alumni.

"Penn State has a tradition of excellence and I am proud to be part of the university and very honored to be chosen for this award," said Rocchino. "Penn State helped prepare me for where I am today. This award is a representation of the dedication and commitment I have put in to help build Health Advocate and make it a successful organization." Every year, approximately twenty alumni are nominated for the award. For an individual to be nominated, they must be a graduate of Penn State and display outstanding work in their chosen field. Nominations are reviewed by a selection committee that includes, among others, the Provost of the University, an Academic Dean and Chancellor, and the Executive Director of the Alumni Association.

Rocchino, an '81 graduate, has long served on Penn State Abington's Alumni Society and Advisory Board, which he chaired in the late 1990s. He was honored with the 2008 Penn State Abington Alumni Achievement Award.

Nineteen Penn State alumni were honored on October 16 for their outstanding professional accomplishments and given the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow.

"We all want to congratulate David for receiving such a prestigious award," said Michael Cardillo, Chief Executive Officer, President and cofounder of Health Advocate. "David has helped build Health Advocate and make it a profitable company since its inception in 2001."
