New Ebtic technologies launched


Dec 18, 2012 (Khaleej Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The etisalat BT Innovation Centre, or Ebtic, unveiled its latest cutting-edge advancements in next generation networks, or NGNs, and intelligent systems.

Ebtic is an Abu Dhabi-based centre for research and innovation excellence that was established in 2008 by etisalat, British Telecom and Khalifa University.

Ebtic's research and innovation projects, including some applications that have international patents pending, were presented to Ebtic board members recently.

The demonstrations illustrate the dedicated work of Ebtic's researchers and innovators in NGN and NGN-enabled ICT services, which support the UAE's development and enablement of the digital network economy. The demonstrations covered ICT-enabled application advancements in education, healthcare, energy efficiency, cloud computing, enterprise applications and networking technologies.




Nasser Salim, senior vice-president for Technology Strategy at the etisalat Group and board member of the Ebtic, said that etisalat's contribution to Ebtic continues its commitment to technology innovation.
