NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Football fans around the country are gearing up for the final showdown of the season, and planning a great viewing party - that keeps both "fairweather fans" and serious footballers cheering during the big game - can be overwhelming. Multi-Emmy award-winning Food Network lifestyle maven Sandra Lee has a few tips to help make sure your guests will enjoy the game in comfort and style, no matter which team wins.

Get creative by adding in extra ingredients like coffee, chocolate, tequila, or ranch seasoning to create some of the best rubs, marinades and sauces you've ever tasted.

Think Untraditional. A mix of appetizers - hot and cold, finger foods, dips and spreads - is always welcome, but don't limit yourself. Consider side dishes such as vegetable salads or hot dishes that guests can eat with their fingers or with a cocktail fork.

Decrease Prep Time. Keep prep time quick and simple to save you time in the kitchen so you can mingle more with guests. Use as many time-saving solutions as possible, such as the Blast Chiller technology featured in LG's Super-Capacity French Door Refrigerator, which cools a room-temperature 750 ml bottle of wine in only eight minutes, or a 12 oz canned beverage in just five minutes.

Serve Yourself. Set up food buffet style, so guests can help themselves. Make sure the buffet station is close to the kitchen so it is easy to replenish trays without walking through a crowd.

Now This is a Viewing Party! Have as many HDTVs as possible available around the party area so guests won't miss a moment of the action. But for the big game, you really need a big screen. Designate one area with your largest and highest-resolution screen, such as LG's 84-inch class (83.9 inches measured diagonally) Ultra High-Definition TV*, for the really serious fans who want absolutely the best picture quality. Other guests who want to chat and view commercials only for day-after water cooler talk can steer clear and not interrupt the game.

Festive Trimmings. Use AstroTurf to line the tables and make coasters. It's festive, sporty and fun, and lets your guests safely place glasses and plates on the table. Chalkboards also make for fun decor options and lets guests leave their mark on the party.

A Game of Your Own. Organize a party game to have a little extra fun. Cut out round paper discs in your team's colors. Have each guest write what they predict will be the winner's final score. Whoever guesses correctly wins a prize. You can also draw one at the end of the game and they get to take home left-overs...if you have any left.

Fast Feast for Famished Fans. Look for recipes that can be made in advance and feed a crowd of hungry fans. Super Subs (below) is one of Sandra Lee's favorites for all her home parties.
