Kinetica Joins World Economic Forum and its Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Kinetica, the insight engine for the Extreme Data Economy, announced today that it has partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF), joining its Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. WEF's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (News - Alert) brings together governments, leading companies, and experts from around the world to accelerate cross-sector cooperation and address challenges related to emerging technologies.

We are in the era of the data driven economy. This was firmly acknowledged by Angela Merkel at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos where she stated that "data will be the raw material of the 21st Century." This shift demands that economies and industries need to move beyond being informed by data to becoming powered by data. Together with other WEF Members, Kinetica will explore approaches to building the effective data strategies that will define this data driven era.

"The volume, speed, and complexity of data generated by the Fourth Industrial Revolution creates both challenges and opportunities," said Zvika Krieger, Head of Technology Policy and Partnerships at the World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. "Computing power is constantly increasing, available data is rapidly expanding, and the number of connected devices is proliferating. We look forward to leveraging Kinetica's expertise in adanced analytics as we continue to explore where data can have the most significant impact."

Kinetica enables governments and organizations to take massive volumes of historic data and streaming data to drive real-time decisions that enable the real-world deployment of smart cities, autonomous vehicles, smart grid and other fourth industrial revolution data challenges. Through technical innovation and multi-stakeholder partnerships Kinetica aims to optimize industries including healthcare, energy, telecommunications, automotive, government, retail, and financial services.

"We are honored to become a member of the WEF Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution," said Paul Appleby, CEO of Kinetica. "We live in a world where the data generated by an organization's activities has become more important than the activities themselves, and we look forward to working with WEF to address the impact of the Extreme Data Economy, helping businesses and organizations reimagine how raw data is transformed into compelling action."
