Interstate Companies selects Foxit for enterprise PDF reader

Nov 15, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Foxit Corporation, a provider of solutions for reading, editing, creating, organizing, and securing PDF documents, has announced that the Interstate Companies has selected Foxit Reader to be their standard enterprise PDF reader.

Interstate's desktop IT environment is distributed across 27 sites and use virtual desktop technology. They had been using Adobe Reader as their corporate standard but users were complaining that it was too slow when launching documents and when scrolling through documents. To address these issues, Interstate ran a pilot of Foxit Reader for their Warranty Department, the company said.

Interstate replaced Adobe Reader with Foxit Reader on their desktop image. Interstate is now in the process of gradually migrating Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses to Foxit PhantomPDF to create, edit, collaborate on, and convert PDF documents, the company added.

"We are heavy users of PDF - we use it for the parts, service, and manual websites; interacting with customers and suppliers; and internally in departments such as accounting, human resources, marketing, etc.," said Ben Miller, Network Administrator for Interstate. "As a result, we require a solution that is fast, affordable, and secure, and Foxit delivers." "Foxit provides Business Ready PDF solutions that are sensible alternatives to Adobe Reader and Acrobat," said Philip G. Lee, VP of Enterprise Sales at Foxit Corporation. "PDF is very important to enterprises, so it is good for enterprises to have viable choices in PDF suppliers." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
