Grockit Launches Test Prep for AP Calculus AB and AP US History

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Grockit (www.grockit.com), the leader in collaborative and social learning, today announced it has launched an Advanced Placement test-prep program for Calculus AB and US History, two of the most popular AP exams. Grockit is making the AP test prep available for free to the more than 1 million students studying for AP tests through the Calculus AB exam on May 4 and the US History exam on May 6.

"The AP tests are very important to students worldwide because a good score can result in thousands of dollars in college tuition savings," said Roy Gilbert, CEO, Grockit. "Just as Grockit SAT and ACT networks can help students get into the college of their dreams, Grockit AP can help them learn college-level material and get ahead in their coursework before they even enroll."

Grockit's predictive analytics and adaptive learning helps students studying for the AP tests understand where they need to focus in preparing for the test by providing a personalized study plan designed to improve test scores. Other key features and benefits of Grockit AP Test Prep program include:

  • On-demand, live instructor help
  • Social learning communities, including group chat and interactive whiteboard
  • Thousands of multiple choice practice questions for AP US History and AP Calculus AB exams
  • Curriculum aligned to the 2011 College Board AP Curriculum Guide
  • Questions modeled after those on released exams, written by college professors and high school teachers with dozens of years experience building AP curriculum
  • Interactive study plan that provides detailed performance feedback and suggested study tasks to students preparing for test day

As part of the launch, Grockit has made the AP program available to students in San Jose and Oakland through a partnership with Equal Opportunity Schools. Equal Opportunity Schools works with schools to match students of diverse backgrounds with more academically intense coursework, such as AP. Grockit and Equal Opportunity Schools are giving away an extended free trial to thousands of AP students in both San Jose Unified and Oakland Unified School Districts.

"Equal Opportunity Schools is excited to partner with Grockit to deploy innovative and adaptive new AP products to grow our impact in Northern California," said Reid Saaris, founder and executive director of Equal Opportunity Schools. "Grockit supports our efforts to reach under-served students with their incredible online AP test prep platform."
