Ethoca's Julie Fergerson Wins Innovator of the Year at the 2018 Women in IT Awards

Ethoca, the leading provider of collaboration-based technology solutions that help card issuers and online merchants increase card acceptance and stop ecommerce fraud and disputes, today announced that Senior Vice President of Industry Solutions, Julie Fergerson, has won Innovator of the Year at the 2018 Women in IT Awards in Silicon Valley.

Organized by business technology site Information Age, the Women in IT Awards is the world's leading tech diversity event, which aims to recognise exceptional female tech talent who are paving the way for gender parity. Sponsored by Google (News - Alert), the Innovator of the Year award acknowledges a technology company that has demonstrated outstanding innovation, customer wins and deployments in the last 18 months - in which a woman was integral to that success. The winners were announced at a ceremony on Thursday 29th November 2018 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

Fergerson is an industry expert on internet payments fraud and well-known international speaker. Drawing on her 20+ years of ecommerce and fraud management experience, she holds patents for various technologies designed to secure order processing and prevent fraudulent electronic transactions. For this award, Julie was recognized for her pivotal role in the successful launch of Ethoca Eliminator.

Ethoca Eliminator is a ground-breaking new solution that tackles the growing problems of friendly fraudand false declines by connecting issuers to merchant order and account history details in real time. Now issuer call center agents have the information they need - including itemized receipts and detailed account information - to have helpful conversations with cardholders the moment they question a transaction. Even better, cardholders can instantly access this in-depth merchant information directly through their desktop or mobile banking app.

With Ethoca Eliminator, cardholders can rest easy by having on-demand insight into their own transactions - avoiding not only the frustrating dispute process, but also future purchase friction that results when cards are unnecessarily cancelled. Merchants benefit by preserving purchase revenue, improving future acceptance and avoiding the chargeback and representment process. Card issuers empower cardholders with a vastly improved post-transaction experience, while avoiding costly disputes and related OPEX (News - Alert).

Speaking on the award win, Julie Fergerson commented: "It's an absolute honor to be recognized in a competitive space with many talented female innovators. It's great to see organizations such as the Women in IT awards actively promoting the valuable contributions made by women. I'd also like to thank Ethoca - and all of my coworkers and our customers - for putting their faith in me to take a leading role in solving some of ecommerce's biggest pain points and get our Eliminator solution to market."

Keith Briscoe, Ethoca's Chief Marketing & Product Officer, added: "The whole team is so proud of Julie and this important recognition of her achievements. Over the span of a couple of decades, Julie has continued to transform the ecommerce industry through her own dedication and hard work, but also through a level of generosity that helps her industry peers and colleagues be just as successful. She is a true testament to the idea that making the payments ecosystem better can happen only through more effective industry collaboration."
