CSR, Telecom Council Announce FastPitch Winner from Locations & Beyond Summit 2012

CAMBRIDGE, England & SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

CSR plc (LSE: CSR) (NASDAQ: CSRE), together with the Telecom Council, today announced that Locaid Technologies, Inc. was the winner of the popular FastPitch competition - chosen from the event's RapidFire participants - at last week's 6th annual Locations & Beyond Summit 2012. Locaid®, a Location-as-a-Service (LaaS) company, was chosen by Summit attendees from among six participant companies who presented innovative new location-aware offerings, including Urban Airship (News - Alert), InvisiTrack, Pole Star USA, Mosaik Solutions, and Alohar Mobile.

The RapidFire presentations involved five-minute pitches - or FastPitches - from companies showcasing novel and creative use-cases of location technology. The Summit audience chooses the winner through a text message-based voting system. In addition, this year's Summit included a product showcase in which companies including RxNetworks, Nextnav, and Fixmo demonstrated their products to the elite audience.

"This was the largest Summit to date, with the highest quality attendees - over two hundred - including many global carriers," according to Joep van Beurden, CEO of CSR. "Two topics of particular interest at the Summit this year were privacy and delivery options for location-based services. Locaid stands at the nexus of the two, protecting the privacy and security of customers while facilitating integration of location into myriad applications such as fraud prevention, proximity marketing, and asset tracking and monitoring. The company's unique 'Location as a Service' - or LaaS - platform will no doubt help accelerate the fruition of beneficial new mobile location-based services of all kinds."
