BRIEF: Man arrested after attempted robbery

STOCKTON, Feb 26, 2013 (The Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Around 10:20 p.m. Monday, two men knocked on the door of a residence in the 700 block of Belvedere Avenue requesting to use the phone. When the 27-year-old resident opened the door, the men pushed their way in and one of the men displayed a gun before heading to the back of the home, police reported.

A struggle broke out between the suspects and an unknown number of residents, and the second intruder fled the scene while the residents detained the gunman for police. The weapon turned out to be a pellet gun, police reported. They arrested Miguel Gonzalez, 21, on suspicion of residential robbery.

Police described his accomplice as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build, last seen wearing a dark puffy jacket, dark jeans and a black beanie.
