Appfire Acquires More Atlassian Expertise to Add Competitive Edge to Products

Appfire, a leading provider of Atlassian (News - Alert) apps, announced today the addition of long-time software experts Steven Kling and Michael Kuhl to the Appfire family. Kling and Kuhl will use their extensive knowledge of the Atlassian suite and experience in building custom software solutions to continue the evolution of Appfire's products.

The addition of the two industry experts signals Appfire's dedication to innovating alongside Atlassian by improving Appfire's current products and casting a vision for future growth.

"Steve and Michael have firsthand knowledge of how teams use Atlassian tools, and their insight into where the market is going will help us continue to build products that help thousands of teams work more efficiently," Appfire Vice President of Research and Development Jeff Pierce said. "As an integral part of our product teams, their fresh vision will ensure that we are first to market with many new products."

Leveraging decades of combined software development experience, Kling and Kuhl have created custom enterprise solutions for companies all over the world and provided Atlassian consulting for start-ups and Fortune 500 organizations. Notably, the duo combined their knowledge of Atlassian's product suite with the capabilities of ppfire's Bob Swift (News - Alert) brand apps to build and deploy a dynamic, integrated communications solution for a global online marketplace.

Having built Atlassian apps in the past, Kling will initially be tasked with creating the vision and technical architecture needed to bring more of Appfire's apps to the cloud - reinforcing the company's commitment to offering its cutting-edge technology to customers on Atlassian Cloud.

"So many people everywhere rely on Appfire's tools, and I can't imagine anything more exciting and challenging than unlocking the potential for more and more teams to use these products in Atlassian Cloud," Kling said.

Kuhl, who was a finalist at Atlassian's ShipIt Live event in 2015 and has been a regular presenter at the annual Atlassian Summit, is excited to work with his hero, Bob Swift.

"Appfire is an incredible company built on a team of fantastic people. And now, I get to work with Bob as he continues his journey helping people use their Atlassian suite and the Bob Swift line of apps to solve challenging problems," Kuhl said.

Kling and Kuhl will officially assume their new roles at Appfire on July 8.
