VoIP Innovations Touts DID Benefits

By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, TMC

Direct Inward Dialing offers businesses a range of benefits.

DID enables organizations to support multiple numbers on individual phone lines.

Many organizations use DIDs so they can provide their customers and prospects with a local number to call.

Some businesses leverage DID for vanity numbers. DID numbers also make it possible for anybody to join a Skype (News - Alert) for Business conference call. And those individuals don’t need to have an internet connection.

VoIP Innovations says that DID can improve call management and customer value. And DIDs can expedite processes and lower costs.

“Users can also enjoy a breadth of features including fax-to-email, SMS and E911 service,” VoIP Innovations blogs. “Depending on the provider, businesses can even gain access to customized reports that offer full transparency into DID usage, cost, and profit.”

VoIP Innovations (News - Alert) provides tools and services that save customers time and allow them to focus on the more important parts of their business. Its offerings include wholesale VoIP DIDs as well as origination, termination, E911, hosted billing, and fraud detection services that are all designed to work seamlessly with any PBX (News - Alert). In late 2016 VoIP Innovations made SMS services available on all of its DIDs. The company explained it did that given the widespread use of mobile phones, and the growing use of messaging.

SMS is a very effective way for businesses to reach customers because text messages have an open rate of 98 percent. Meanwhile, email has an open rate of just 20 percent. Also, 90 percent of text messages are read in less than three minutes.

Short message services and multimedia message service are also useful for product demonstrations, enabling product purchasing, and doing verification and authentication. Demos can be provided by providing a short video via MMS.
