The Changing Face of Casinos

Before the internet, if you wanted to place a bet you would go into high street bookies and the main attraction would be horse racing. You could study form from the racing papers and judge if the odds offered were worth you risking your money. Other than that you could go to a meeting and enjoy a day out with bookies offering their services at a local racetrack. Also in bookies, you might find the slot machines or one-armed bandits as they were called; these also became popular in working men's clubs and sometimes pubs.

Once the internet was unleashed on the public about 1998 the gambling industry wasted no time in making itself felt with numerous casinos being introduced on a monthly basis. The first of these proved very successful and have changed into developers of games software which operate on a franchise basis which is why many of the modern casinos seem to operate basically the same games with variations but mainly the software is the same. However, they have to keep ahead of their competitors and huge investment is made on developing new and unique games which are being introduced like 3d graphics and virtual reality. I have often said that the games and gambling industries are becoming much closer together and one future will be on skill against the house with players being able to bet on gamers winning outcome.

The internet has changed people's lives so much in the relatively short time it has been around and one of the major changes has been the introduction of social media like facebook and twitter, indeed it has brought down governments and given us instant news and the ability to change wrongs and give an opinion. That is not to say everything it has created is good, online trolls, darknet for drugs and terrorism run alongside the good. However, casinos understand the significance of reaching targeted customers and as they are limited on television advertising the internet is becoming the greatest form of their advertising.

You will see their numerous offers with special bonuses for new players and no deposit ones, or so many free spins all trying to stand out in order to get your attention and custom. One of the major changes introduced affecting the internet and the casinos alike was the introduction and development of cryptocurrencies with "one option" being litecoin. It has allowed the gaming industry to advance due to its great advantages like anonymity and instant deposit and withdrawals with SSL encryption. As its popularity increases more and more casinos are accepting Bitcoin and casinos are being developed that only accept this digital currency. It has allowed more money to be invested in developing new innovations and games for the industry as we all seem to want more and more to keep ourselves entertained and long may it continue as you will never stop progress and anyone can predict the future.

Now it is not just Bitcoin that has become a popular cryptocurrency to gamble with as new emerging cryptos such a litecoin and ethereum are becoming mainstream. With much new gambling ICOs being launched that present new opportunities for gamblers to invest at the start of a new concept in the world of gambling it is exciting times and one that will change the industry for the better.
