VoiceNation to Feature Open-Source Call Center Solution at Asterisk World

By Kyle Piscioniere, Web Editor

VoiceNation, a call center provider with a focus on virtual solutions, released an open-source product to help develop free, scalable, virtual call centers. The product, called OpenAnswer, uses Asterisk (News - Alert) to give users the ability to operate a call center in-browser, without an oversized upfront investment.

The company freely distributes OpenAnswer through its website, and customers have noticed. One of the most prominent examples has been Georgia CALLS, a not-for-profit organization that facilitates the integration of high-risk ex-inmates into the business world. The company leveraged OpenAnswer as a cost-effective and efficient business tool, which is necessary for cash-strapped organizations.

It claims to have, “streamlined the entire process of taking calls, dispatching, scripting, running reports, and gathering account information, as well as investigating operator usage without putting stress on the server,” according to Call Center Manager Chris Suarez.

To explain the growing success of OpenAnswer, VoiceNation is going to give the industry a glimpse into the development and implementation of its software. The company has slated Director of Operations Eric Schurke to deliver a special presentation at Asterisk World on Thursday, January 28 at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward Country Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

Asterisk World takes place within the broader ITEXPO business technology event and features companies and leaders that have successfully adopted Asterisk. Organizations that haven’t yet considered the technology can get introductory information, while those on the fence can hear from companies that have successfully implemented and actively use Asterisk.

Attendees of Asterisk World have a lot to learn from Schurke.  OpenAnswer runs primarily on Asterisk, along with a host of other open-source solutions.

Schurke explained that, "Through the use of Asterisk, we've developed a way for entrepreneurs who would not have been able to start a call center, to have the opportunity to do so at very little cost.”

VoiceNation will be available for questions about their Asterisk success at booth 428 at Asterisk World. We recommend you get there early – they expect a line. Other speakers include John Oberon of IoT Software Platforms, Brian Ferguson of Switchvox, and Justin Hester of Digium.

ITEXPO will also host speakers from IBM (News - Alert), Cisco, Shoretel, Red Hat, and other high profile tech companies. Those who have not yet secured a spot can register HERE
