This week while attending ITEXPO in Miami Beach, Fla., the privately-held IP-PBX (News - Alert) telephony solutions manufacturer announced a new optional software component called CompleteSBC—and offered ITEXPO attendees a chance to try it out by dialing an extension on its PBX for a free cup of coffee!

Offered in conjunction with Xorcom’s CompletePBX IP-PBX series, this new CompleteSBC solution is a session border controller (SBC) that provides intrusion prevention for the IP PBX, acting as a sort of SIP firewall for greater security in IP PBX-based enterprise environments. With digital hacking disasters on the rise, and more and more sensitive data being housed virtually, it’s crucial for businesses to take the necessary steps to protect their information and communications.

CompleteSBC, which is a B2BUA server, provides enterprises with access control, Denial of Service (DoS), NAT traversal, smart routing, and messages repair to solve interoperability problems. In addition, the Xorcom solution allows business to implement extra applications, such as SIP UDP (News - Alert)/TCP/TLS gateways. And, because ease of use is an extremely important element in tech design today, the CompleteSBC was also designed with a powerful GUI interface for easy configuration of many features.

“While PBX manufacturers, developers, and system integrators are not necessarily in charge of the client’s network or Internet services, it is possible to put services in place that help prevent fraudulent intrusion into the PBX,” explained Eran Gal, CEO and co-founder of Xorcom. “This is the role of the CompleteSBC – it helps detect and prevent IP-PBX abuse.”
