Fonality Names Rosemarie Savino VP of Product Management

Rosemarie Savino, former director of product management at ShoreTel, was recently hired as the new vice president of product management at Fonality (News - Alert).



Fonality provides business phone systems and contact center solutions geared toward small and midsize businesses.

Savino has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and high-tech fields. In addition to ShoreTel (News - Alert), she has held positions in product management and strategic development at places such as AT&T and Hawaiian Telecom.

"We're extremely pleased to have another seasoned executive with direct industry experience join us," said David Scult, CEO of Fonality, in a statement. "Her unique and broad experiences will be a vital part of our team. We expect her to play a significant role in Fonality's continued success."

Savino is looking forward to her new position.

"I'm excited to make the move to the Fonality team," she said. "They are at the forefront of telecommunications technology in the small business space, and I am ready to be a part of those innovations."

In other company news, Fonality executives recently urged companies to demand more than mobility from their telecommunications provider. More specifically, businesses should want advanced collaboration features on mobile phones that are generally incorporated within business telephone systems.

In an effort to combine mobility with attributes offered by business telephones, Fonality has developed an application called Heads Up Display Mobile. HUD Mobile offers businesses a variety of features including real-time presence and collaborating capabilities; instant access to company directory, visual voicemail and virtual conference rooms; a find me/follow me functionality intended for seamless connectivity between desktop and mobile devices; unified messaging; seamless call transfer to and from mobile and office phones; advanced call management to enable managers to monitor, whisper or barge agent calls; and things such as secure chat and photo caller ID.
