Wilson Electronics Wins Awards for Sleek 4G Booster, Workplace Safety and Marketing

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Cellular signal booster manufacturer Wilson Electronics (News - Alert) recently received a handful of awards from state and industry organizations, recognizing excellence in product innovation, workplace safety and marketing campaigns.

In terms of product innovation, Wilson was named a winner in the 11th annual Utah Innovation Awards for its recently released Sleek 4G mobile cellular signal booster. The Sleek 4G took home top honors in the Outdoor & Consumer Products category. The cellular booster amplifies signals inside vehicles for cellular devices using any type of 4G signal used by U.S. carriers, except for WiMAX (News - Alert). It is also capable of boosting 2G and 3G signals, as well as voice signal.

The Utah Manufacturers Association honored Wilson with a Workplace Safety Award, specifying the company's “meritorious performance in creating a safe workplace environment” in presenting the award.

Meanwhile, the Competitive Carriers Association, the trade group that represents the United States' rural and regional cellular service providers, recognized Wilson with an Excellence in Marketing Award in the Electronic and Social Media category. An online series of funny video shorts created by Wilson that illustrate the frustrations cellular customers can have trying to find a reliable signal were the primary reason for the win.

As Wilson Electronics has been a leader in the wireless communications industry for over 40 years, it's not too surprising to see the company receiving this level of recognition. Wilson consistently works to improve upon every aspect of its business, not just its technology. For example, the company recently upgraded its warranty coverage, providing all of its signal booster models with two years of coverage from the date of purchase.

“We feel these honors reflect the Wilson spirit — we take pride in the products we make, the processes that produce them and the way we tell our story,” said Jonathan Bacon, Wilson director of marketing. “With so many outstanding companies nominated for these awards, we‘re very honored to be recognized by the UMA, the Utah Innovation Awards program and the CCA.”
