By Shankar Pandiath, TMCnet Contributor

The Samsung (News - Alert) Galaxy Note 10.1 with S Pen, the next Samsung tablet on Verizon Wireless, is all set to change the way we use tablets .

Generally, people use tablets for gaming, Web browsing, downloading movies and more. Performing  tasks like photo editing, note-taking and multitasking on a tablet is challenging. The Galaxy Note II has managed to collect some brownie points, making these tasks easier to perform.

The newest offering from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 10.1, will certainly do more to sway users to its side in the competitive tablet war. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has an advanced S Pen stylus and with its useful handwriting-to-text capabilities, professionals can now take notes during meetings. There are drawing tools to jot down plans and notes can be easily saved and shared with loved ones, friends, clients and colleagues over 4G LTE (News - Alert).

The split screen facility is very useful too. Students and professionals will be able to use this multiscreen feature to view two apps at once by splitting the screen.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 runs Adobe Photoshop Touch for photo editing. There are also many tools for designers. Building visual effects, such as layering, blending with filters etc., with the added advantage of the S Pen, it is now very easy and designers can use this feature to show mock-ups or drafts to clients. Designs and images can be combined and manipulated creatively and files can also be uploaded into the cloud with the help of 4G LTE. The ability to upload files into the cloud has allowed writers, photographers and movie makers to carry their portfolios with them at all times, everywhere.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 has a brilliant touchscreen display, which will make movie watching very enjoyable. Users can view pictures and play games that come to life in high-definition (1280x800).

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor. Users can surf the Internet at blazing speeds using the Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) 4G LTE network. It runs on the Android 4.1 operating system and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is 8.9 millimeters thin and weighs only 597 grams. This tablet is easily turning heads with its presence and is one of the most portable, premium and stylish tablets available. A 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera is an added bonus for Shutterbugs.

For users who are TV fans, the Galaxy Note 10.1 has a Smart Remote, which is powered by Peel, to turn the tablet into a universal remote control. The tablet can then be used to control an entire home entertainment system. It collects data and can recommend customized programs for users.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will soon be available online and will be in stores in the coming weeks. It is currently on display at CES (News - Alert) in booth #31400, the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall.
