Neurotechnology Updates Line of Multi-Platform Biometric Technologies

By Shankar Pandiath, TMCnet Contributor

Neurotechnology, a provider of high-precision biometric identification technologies today introduced updates for its entire line of Biometric Software Development Kits (SDKs). It also released MegaMatcher 4.4 multi-biometric technology for large-scale applications.

The entire line of SDKs include kits for fingerprint, iris, voice, face and multi-biometric identification. Neurotechnology has also released updates to its similar line of SDKs which have been designed for the development of embedded biometric systems for tablets, smartphones and other devices.

Neurotechnology provides high-precision biometric iris, fingerprint, face, palmprint and object recognition technology, voice identification algorithms, and software development products. The identification algorithms from Neurotechnology are used all over the world in biometric system installations. Its products have been accepted widely and have consistently earned the highest honors in the industry.

"We are continuously working on improving our technologies and products," said Irmantas Naujikas, director of business development for Neurotechnology. "These latest updates include features and improvements that will help our customers use our technologies in a wider range of applications and implement them more quickly and easily."

Product updates from Neurotechnology include VeriEye 2.6 for iris identification, VeriLook 5.3 for facial identification, VeriFinger 6.6 for fingerprint identification and VeriSpeak 1.2 for voice identification. The product VeriLook Surveillance 2.2 for facial identification from surveillance camera video was also released today.

New releases have enhancements that improve accuracy and usability for biometric system developers and end-users. VeriFinger 6.6 now comes with improved fingerprint segmentation for increased accuracy of all fingerprint scans. It will also include scans from paper. Thus the enhanced version will be able to provide improved identification and verification. With the updated VeriLook 5.3 it will be now possible to detect 68 predefined facial feature points. It will also include gender classification from face images. This new feature now has also been included in the updated VeriLook Surveillance 2.2 SDK.

The updated VeriSpeak 1.2 which is used for voice identification includes new voice activity detection that improves recognition accuracy. The application can listen and react as soon as voice recognition is completed. This feature makes VeriSpeak suitable to be used in real-time online audio processing.

MegaMatcher technology can be used in a wide variety of biometric solutions worldwide for national-scale projects. This technology has been in use for criminal investigations, border control, passport and visa documentation, duplicate searches in large-scale databases, election control, and a range of other government and commercial applications.

The MegaMatcher fingerprint recognition algorithm is NIST MINEX-compliant. It supports most biometric industry standards. It has been used in US Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) program fingerprint recognition applications

MegaMatcher 4.4 includes all of these latest individual biometric algorithms, plus palmprint identification, all of which enable the development of fast, accurate large-scale multi-biometric solutions. Multibiometric solutions can be used by using any combination of iris, fingerprint, face, voice or palm biometrics.
