When a company can sell two million units of a product, it is a good thing. When a company can sell two million units in less than three days, it is virtually unheard of. If there is any company out there that can accomplish such a feat, it’s Apple (News - Alert). In China, Apple has done just that; they have sold two million iPhone 5 smartphones in less than three days.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, has been impressed, “Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China. China is a very important market for us, and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products."

Apple’s iPhone (News - Alert) 5 has been the best-selling iPhone in the successful line of smartphones manufactured by the electronics giant. More than four million consumers purchased the iPhone 5 when it was first launched in the United States in September. Apple is expecting to have the iPhone 5 available in more than one hundred markets by the end of 2012.

Apple had problems with angry customers trying to purchase the predecessor of the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S. Apple devised a different way of selling the iPhone 5 in its retail stores by having customers pre-order the smartphone the day before and returning to retrieve their smartphone the following day. They felt that this selling technique would prevent opening day issues and also prevent scalpers from purchasing the iPhone to be sold later at a higher cost.

Not only have they put this system in place for the iPhone 5, but they have also used the same system for the recently released iPad mini.

The iPhone 5 offers the latest technology available from Apple, including its new Retina Display and the latest iOS 6 operating system. The thinnest and lightest model produced by Apple is available in a 16-GB, 32-GB, and 64-GB version.
