By Shankar Pandiath, TMCnet Contributor

The colossal fame of the iPad Mini has encouraged the prime U.S network carrier AT&T (News - Alert) Inc. to augment the sales of the new Apple device to its customers at a reduced price. People with a weakness for fourth generation iPads can now purchase this gadget at a discounted price with a two-year data plan from the AT&T stores.

The new-fangled iPad Mini boasts of a multi-touch 7.9-inch screen display, an integrated 5 megapixel camera. It is 53 percent slimmer and 23 percent lighter weight than its ancestor iPad 3. Additionally, the iPad Mini is powered with iOS 6, offering swifter Wi-Fi connectivity and enhanced battery life.

Within three days of its launch, Apple (News - Alert) Inc. had sold three million iPad Minis. Its massive popularity is the indicative of the fact that AT&T will have an enormously profitable Holiday Season, with high yielding ROI and solid clientele expansion.

Interestingly, the last quarter for this U.S. carrier experienced sales of 4.7 million in the smartphone niche. The company was the premier sales agent for iPhone (News - Alert) 5. Moving forward, it is anticipated that AT&T will continue to tread along the same lines, with its expansion of 4GLTE technology across the U.S. Currently the company renders its new technology to 103 countries on the globe.

Furthermore, its novel Mobile Share plans that enable more gadgets to connect instantly to its “single” data plan will churn out supplementary figures both in customer acquisition and iPad Mini tablet sales. The combo offer of iPad and the Mobile Share plans will outlay a mere $10 per month.

Analyzing the powerful sales figure of the Apple’s gadget, other popular U.S. carriers have jumped into the bandwagon. Sprint Nextel (News - Alert) Corp. will soon be rubbing shoulders with AT&T, with its striking data plan prices. It is also anticipated that Kindle Fire HD tablet, a hot favorite in the low-end market, will also give a tough competition to its rival- iPad Mini.

This Holiday Season is geared up for the latest tablet war. How AT&T will handle the impediments, and continue to progress, only time will reveal.
