American Trucking Association Proudly Partners with XRS Corporation

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

XRS Corporation (formerly Xata Corporation) announced that for the American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Interstate One truck, its Turnpike mobile solution is the official fleet optimization platform. This new program will introduce a mobile device network that monitors location and condition of vehicles.

The national public outreach program is designed to educate the public about highway safety and the trucking industry.

In Las Vegas, during the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition on Oct. 7-11, XRS Corporation will be installing the Turnpike solution in ATA's Interstate One, where the America's Road Team captains will also receive training. Turnpike runs on drivers' existing cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers and is a technologically advanced, low-cost, easy-to-install solution.

For the America's Road Team Captains, Turnpike will run on Motorola (News - Alert) Xyboard. Interstate One's exterior will feature ATA and XRS logos, as well as logos of other premier sponsors.

“Turnpike puts safety and compliance in the palms of drivers' hands using mobile devices, and we're excited that ATA's public image and outreach program recognizes the importance of electronic logs in improving safety on the road,” said Christian Schenk, VP of Market Development and Product Marketing at XRS.

The American Trucking Association hopes to popularize this new technology throughout the trucking industry. In order to facilitate this, the ATA’s Interstate One, a mobile marketing trailer which features a mobile conference room and multiple projection screens, will showcase the Turnpike mobile solution as it travels the country.

The Turnpike mobile solutions system is designed to limit fuel consumption, enhance communication with truckers even in remote locations, and deliver quality with low costs and barriers to installation.

Turnpike removes the need to purchase expensive equipment and uses existing mobile networks for cell phones.
