Looxcie Launches Hands Free Webcam

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

We’re always looking for a better webcam so that we can broadcast what we are doing from one day to next as quickly as possible and as easily as possible. Now, there is a new wireless webcam that is completely hands free that you can actually wear. The webcam will still be able to work just as some of those neat little webcams that stream wirelessly to websites like Facebook (News - Alert) or Google Plus.

Last Friday, Looxcie launched its hands free HD webcam that has built in Wi-Fi connectivity. Obviously the ability to wear the camera on your head, allows you to functional tasks with this particular webcam.

One of the coolest features of this particular webcam is that the connectivity to Facebook allows you to create different live streaming channels with the camera. This means you can set the video you are streaming to Facebook to either be a public stream or a private one. The camera also comes with a companion app that can run on either iOS or Android (News - Alert) that can do a ton of other things with the cameras including making clips that can be viewed directly after filming is done.

The company said that there will be a couple of different versions of their camera with the most expensive option being the $329 LooxcieHD Explore. This particular version allows you to quickly attach the camera to almost any kind of headgear for hands free recording. The company says you will be able to get cameras for as little as $279, though the website only has the HD Explore listed with specs at this point.
