BroadSoft Cofounder and CEO Michael Tessler Takes Center Stage at StartupCamp6 at ITEXPO Austin

Pioneer of cloud-based Communications Software Development to share stories and lessons learned going from startup to IPO

NORWALK, Conn. – September 11, 2012 – EMBRASE Business Consulting and TMC (News - Alert) announced today that Michael Tessler, president and CEO at BroadSoft, will kick off the festivities as the opening keynote speaker at StartupCamp6: Comms Edition, taking place October 4 in Austin, Texas.

StartupCamp, co-produced by Embrase and TMC, is collocated with ITEXPO (News - Alert), the world’s largest and best-attended communications and technology trade show, at the Austin Convention Center.

StartupCamp is a fast-paced “ready, set, pitch” event that offers early-stage entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch communications innovations of all kinds to an audience of industry leaders, media and investors.

“So many of us in this industry grew up watching BroadSoft beat the drum on the hosted revolution,” said Larry Lisser (News - Alert), a partner in Embrase Business Consulting and cofounder of StartupCamp Comms. “But with BroadSoft now a public company, and cloud services becoming mainstream, this is a unique opportunity for the entrepreneur community to hear a pioneer like Mike tell us what it took to get here. We couldn’t be happier that he is joining us as the keynote guest in Austin.”

BroadSoft provides software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to deliver unified communications and other voice and multimedia services over their Internet protocol (IP)-based networks.

Before cofounding BroadSoft with Scott Hoffpauir in 1998, Tessler held several senior roles in product and services development for global leaders like Alcatel and Nortel (News - Alert). Tessler also has two patents in the area of local switching, AIN, and advanced call management services.

StartupCamp6 is supported by its platinum sponsor, the Cloud Communications Alliance, along with returning sponsors Phone.com (News - Alert), Shango and Twilio.

Attendance for StartupCamp is free for registered attendees – register today on www.itexpo.com and RSVP for StartupCamp.
