Siemens Enterprise Communications' Chris Hummel to Keynote ITEXPO Austin

Fulfilling the Promise of Unified Communications (UC) Keynote Session Scheduled for Wednesday, October 3

NORWALK, Conn. – July 12, 2012 -- TMC announced that Chris Hummel, Chief Commercial Officer for Siemens Enterprise Communications, will deliver an afternoon keynote address at ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin on Wednesday October 3 at 3:30 p.m. ITEXPO, the world’s largest and best-attended communications and technology trade show, is being held October 2-5 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

“Siemens Enterprise Communications is growing in market share faster than any of the other top players in the communications business for one simple reason -- we deliver business improvements that substantially impact our customers’ bottom line,” Hummel said. "Our aim is to truly unify communications and harmonize every enterprise. It is my pleasure to present at this year’s ITEXPO event to re-introduce you to the company that makes it easier for everyone to achieve their goals.”

According to Hummel, most enterprises have a myriad of disparate point solutions such as instant messaging, portals, web conferencing, and islands of functionality in areas like executive video. Typically these technologies are not connect to the core business processes and are a challenge to manage independently. A higher standard of unified communications would make everything work better, amplify the efforts of work teams, thereby increasing productivity, serving customers better, and saving on communication costs.

Hummel joined Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) in April 2010 and currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer. In his role he is responsible for Global Marketing and Corporate Development. His priorities include expanding the company’s market presence, building the brand and accelerating growth through strategic M&A opportunities.Hummel is a recognized thought leader and has extensive experience in global enterprise sales and marketing, having lived and worked in a range of regions, including the United States, Germany, Eastern Europe and Asia. Before joining Siemens Enterprise Communications, he served as Executive Vice President of Global Field Marketing for SAP AG, where he managed an organization of more than 600 people that annually generated more than US$7 billion in qualified opportunities. Prior to SAP, Hummel spent 13 years at Oracle (News - Alert) Corp. in a number of senior sales, services and marketing roles.Hummel holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Medford, Mass. He also studied at Durham University (UK) and the London Business School.

“Siemens Enterprise Communications realizes that UC is not a one-size-fits-all strategy for enterprises,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC and Conference Chairman for ITEXPO. “We very pleased to welcome Siemens Enterprise Communications back to ITEXPO and have Chris Hummel address the real opportunity a true UC strategy can bring to all different types enterprises.”
