Emulex - Bringing Innovation to Human-to-Technology Interactions

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Connectivity in the corporate environment is essential, but how do you overcome challenges when human-to-technology interactions turn into downtime and data loss? Emulex (News - Alert) is working with HP to develop the right solutions to overcome these problems as a founding member of the HP ProActive Insight Architecture (PIA) Alliance.

To explore its other innovations, Emulex was on-hand at this year’s Interop (News - Alert) 2012. TMC’s Rich Tehrani invited Emulex’s Vice President Corporate Communications Shaun Walsh into the TMC newsroom to discuss Emulex’s latest news, exciting innovations and what the company has planned for the near future. Catch the interview in full via this TMC (News - Alert) video.

As a founding member of the HP PIA Alliance, Emulex was specifically selected by HP due to its family of I/O connectivity solutions. The company’s innovations were originally developed according to HP interfaces and standards, contributing to the performance and reliability offered in the HP ProLiant Generation 8.

The built-in intelligence offered in the HP ProLiant Gen8 is designed to transform the economics of the data center to improve performance and uptime, while also lowering costs. Emulex plans to continue to contribute to the elimination of common challenges that exist when humans and technology interact.

This unique alliance enables the culmination of some of the leading innovators in the global market to complement the technology in the ProLiant Gen8 servers. Leasers in storage, memory, I/O, power and infrastructure solutions and more, come together to build the necessary technology components to support HP Proactive Insight architecture interfaces and standards.

"As part of the HP ProActive Insight Architecture Program, Emulex is providing I/O connectivity solutions, further extending the broad support for HP storage and server offerings, spanning generations and protocols," said Walsh in a news release. "The new HP ProLiant Gen8 server technology improves data center efficiency, which helps drive down operational costs. As part of the HP PIA, we look forward to supporting a more flexible and efficient infrastructure."

Emulex also recently partnered with Myricom (News - Alert), another Interop 2012 participant, to extend extreme performance solutions throughout the global market. To learn more about Emulex and the exciting things the company is doing in this space, access the video interview in full.
