Broadsoft Wins First Place in BIG Idea Contest at CTIA Wireless 2012

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Managing Editor

Broadsoft may be commonly known for its unified communication software suites and platforms, but the company certainly has a place at this year’s CTIA (News - Alert) Wireless event in New Orleans, Louisiana for its mobile enabled solutions.

In fact, Leslie Ferry, VP of Marketing for Broadsoft, exclusively told TMCnet that a large sector of the CTIA show is focused on user experience applications enabled on mobile devices, a sector Broadsoft fits into well thanks to its UC suite and Broadsoft BroadTouch Business Communicator solution.

Broadsoft may have fell short in terms of its first quarter numbers, however, the company’s solutions still prove to be a fan favorite. On the first day of CTIA Wireless (News - Alert) 2012, Broadsoft was awarded first place in CTIA’s BIG Idea contest which recognizes the mobile industry’s newest and most innovative concepts dedicated to improving the way we live, work and play.

After presenting a live demonstration for more than 500 mobile professionals at the event, Broadsoft was voted number one among 10,000 online voters for its Broadsoft Business Communicator solution with finalists Missing Link and Tip Solutions taking home the second and third place spots.

BroadTouch Business Communicator is a full unified communications experience that enables service providers to transform the way individuals communicate by making voice, video, business directories, call logs, instant messaging and presence available on a single interface that spans a user's mobile devices and platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android (News - Alert). Business Communicator was the top vote receiving finalist.

Broadsoft’s portfolio of UC services span features such as pure voice, video conferencing and calling, and instant messaging and presence just to name a few. However, the company’s Business Communicator aggregates four essential business UC solutions into one complete package over any mobile device including call control capabilities and instant messaging.

Ferry also noted that one major trend that is inevitable in the marketplace today is the adoption of cloud communications for businesses. In the near future, Broadsoft intends to continue development with cloud-based solutions and extending its breadth in the mobile industry as well.
