Option's GlobeSurfer X.1 Connects to 3G and WiFi Network

Option, an wireless technology company focused in the design, development and manufacture of products that enhance wireless connectivity, has announced the launch of its GlobeSurfer X.1, a wireless router, that the company said can transform any USB wireless modem into an instant Internet-connected WiFi (News - Alert) network supporting multiple users.

Weighing just 45 grams, the new Globesurfer X.1 is a compact router device that uses no installation software. It is built in browser GUI (Graphical User Interface) will enable users to access the features by just launching any Internet browser such as Explorer, Safari, FireFox and Opera.

Users can now easily and reliably connect to the internet, said the company.

After inserting USB Modem into the Globesurfer X.1, the device will still establish a Local Area Network (LAN), and allow computers supporting Wi-Fi to access the networking features of the device. Customers without Wi-Fi can also connect through the Ethernet ports on the rear of the device.

Option’s statement also revealed that the stylish GlobeSurfer X.1 has applications at home, in the office, or anywhere there is a need for people to share information, to work together or to share printers, storage and back-up devices.

Additionally, even the local WiFi network can be connected to the Internet by simply plugging a 3G/HSPA USB wireless modem into the GlobeSurfer X.1. An additional USB port offers additional high-end local wireless networking functionality such as Print Server or File Server connectivity.

Users can now share a printer or access content from a media server while enjoying a mobile broadband connection to the Internet.

This newly launched wireless gateway is made of sturdy plastics that can withstand knocks commonly associated with travel and packing of computer equipment. The USB connector is adjustable, thus when not in use, it automatically retracts into the casing of the device.
