Motorola Extends Media Mobility to Video Solutions Providers

Motorola, Inc., the maker of video gadgets, reportedly announced that Motorola (News - Alert) Mover has been selected as an International Consumer Electronics Show Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree. The Motorola Mover is a set-top add-on that ensures security to content when adding recorded subscription video content to their mobile handsets.

The Motorola Media Mover is connected via USB to the DVR to transfer content through a secure IP connection that applies digital rights management during transfer. The Motorola Media Mover can access content from a remote location, it is WiFi (News - Alert) and Bluetooth enabled, which allows transmission of content to supported end devices like mobile phone, media players and so on. Additional, content from the Motorola Mover can be transferred on-the-fly without the need of network connectivity.
The Motorola Mover transcodes and streams content over a WiFi network. Videos located on the DVR set-top can be transcoded to the format that suits best on your playback device. It can auto regulate the standard-definition and high-definition content and match the bit rate, video format and resolution on the end device. And the Motorola Mover comes with a user friendly navigation tool, which helps in finding the secure content for downloading. In the vision of delivering Mover technology to the end users, Motorola is working with Comcast (News - Alert) and various video solutions providers.
'Our extensive expertise in delivering advanced multimedia, video and mobility solutions, enables us to deliver to our customers and their subscribers next-generation, differentiating advanced time- and place-shifting mobile media experiences,'  John Burke, senior vice president and general manager of broadband home solutions, Motorola home and networks mobility, said.
Motorola displayed the Mover at the 2010 International CES (News - Alert), which took place Jan. 7 to 10 in Las Vegas. To honor the exceptional design and engineering across 36 product categories, the Motorola Mover was judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media.
Comcast Corporation is that largest provider in the United Stated offerings Internet, television, and telephone services. Motorola, Inc., based in Schaumburg, Ill. develops communications products. The company operates in three different segments Home and Networks Mobility, Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Mobile Devices.
