CES 2013 Brings Landslide of Mobile Products from 3M

Normally when most people think 3M (News - Alert), they think tape and Post-It Notes. But 3M is a lot more than sticky office supplies; 3M has a long tradition of innovation going back decades. With the arrival of the 2013 CES (News - Alert) event, there's a wide variety of products to be seen all across the spectrum, and 3M is set to be no exception with a wide array of products to exhibit mainly geared toward the mobile worker market.

Mobile workers themselves have been  a growing part of the American employment landscape for some time now, so it's not surprising to see plenty of peripherals come out to help them do more and do better no matter where they're operating. Naturally, for 3M, the biggest thing in the mix will be screen protectors of various types and descriptions. New for this year will be the 3M Re-Attachable Privacy Filter For Tablets, which can be removed and reattached for use as necessary and keep those around the user from seeing sensitive company information. It works by blocking most every angled view, allowing only those directly in front to see the screen's contents. A similar item, the 360 Privacy Screen Protector for Smartphones, will do the job for smaller devices.

One more unexpected entry in 3M's lineup, however, is one of mobile projectors. 3M will be showing off its new Mobile Projector MP300, allowing for an easy connection to laptops, tablets, or even desktops to show presentations to a large gathering. It puts out 60 lumens of brightness, making it a sound presentation tool.  It will also have its MP410, MP220, Roku-powered Streaming Projector, and for protecting the projectors, the Projector Sleeve on display as well.

It won't just be about the new stuff, either, as  it will have several older models of screen protectors on display, like  its 3M Privacy Screen Protectors in smartphones and tablets, as well as  its 3M Privacy Filters and 3M Gold Privacy Filters for laptops, including those of the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro varieties. Additionally,  it will have the PF300 Series Lightweight Framed Privacy Filters on tap, as well as the Natural View Anti-Glare Screen Protectors for smartphones and tablets and the Natural View Fingerprint Fading Screen Protectors for tablets. Touchscreen accessories like the Touchscreen Stylus and the Extendable Touchscreen Stylus will also be on hand.

Better yet, for those out at the CES 2013 event, 3M will be offering 3M Screen Protectors applied at no charge to their mobile phones for anyone to drops by  its booth from 11 a.m. to noon and then again from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, where all times are Pacific Standard. Several giveaways will also be run, including three free trips.

3M is a company that's been trading on innovation for quite some time, so it's not too surprising to see it bring out a wide array of new products for office users of all stripes. Its continued push into the mobile market isn't much of a surprise either, but it is gratifying to see more companies embracing the remote worker philosophy by providing materials to back it up. Mobile workers are a trend not likely to vanish any time soon, so it's a safe bet that 3M will continue to provide some serious offerings in terms of keeping mobile workers working to its fullest.
