Entertainment Only Gets Better with the Right Smart Accessories
Tablets and smartphones are an ever-increasing part of most people's lives, but what many don't stop and consider is how accessories for these devices have changed along with them. The recently begun CES (News - Alert) 2013 event in Las Vegas is showing just how great the changes are in terms of mobile accessories, and the changes in accessories serves to underscore the changes in mobile devices.
Several new mobile accessories are coming out, and they're showing off how mobile devices in general are being used much differently than they were in the past. Where formerly, many mobile devices were used as productivity tools, they're gaining ground as entertainment devices. Reflected in the change is the release of the MOGA Mobile Gaming controller for Android (News - Alert) devices. It looks a bit familiar to long-time console gamers, with two analog sticks, two shoulder buttons, and four action buttons as well.
Also changing the accessories concept is the Looxcie Bluetooth Video Camera, a camera designed to add more control to video recording with a smartphone. The Looxcie can be worn like a headset, allowing users to record events of their lives hands-free and letting their own eyes serve as viewfinders.
Beats, the line partially launched by no less a figure than Dr. Dre, has another impressive new music peripheral in the Beats Pill. The Beats Pill allows users to take on a new role as their own DJ by providing an easily portable set of Bluetooth speakers. They're not only potent speakers, but they're also wireless, making it easy to take music along for almost any ride and play it back to a room full of people.

Finally, there are even new ways to recharge those mobile devices. First is Nokia's (News - Alert) Wireless Charging Plate, a device that makes recharging other devices extra easy. Simply plug in the plate and set a compatible device on the plate. This will let it recharge from there, without connecting wires to the device. Panasonic's (News - Alert) Solar Charger also looks to make recharging easy, plugging in a device then leaving the solar charger in the sun takes advantage of the solar radiation to produce energy via photovoltaic cell.
As is clear from the new line of devices coming out lately, there's a lot more going on than just cases and headphones. Advances in mobile gaming, mobile music and mobile video recording are becoming more readily available, and showing just how much the use of mobile devices is changing.
With mobile devices offering more functions, it stands to reason that more accessories would be made available to better facilitate these functions--mobile gaming means more gaming devices and so on--so as the mobile device market continues to evolve, look for even more unusual devices to come out to support these changes.
